As a big Red Wing fan and owner of a pair of Iron Rangers in Amber Harness and a pair of Roughnecks in Briar Oil Slick (I love both), I wanted the right belts. . My belt size after a big meal is 37 inches. I received this belt in size 36. Pros: 1. If you choose the right size (I suggest going 1 size smaller than your actual waistband size), it fits very well (middle hole) 2. The skin is supple and looks beautiful. 3. Made in USA. On the other hand, I found 3 issues that disappointed me with these belts: 1. Color Matching This Amber Pioneer belt looked pretty much the same as the Amber Harness belt. Website. I contacted Red Wing Shoes customer service to make sure. They told me they don't have belts that match Amber Harness exactly and they don't make belts in Briar Oil Slick colors. . I found it odd that the Iron Rangers in Amber Harness have chrome hardware while this belt has brass colored hardware. I guess I just thought it wouldn't be hard to adjust the straps to fit the shoes. Quality The stitching that attaches the buckle to the belt (Belt Keep) is perpendicular to the length of the belt, which pierces the skin and weakens it (think paper towels). In addition, the quality of the seams is noticeably lower than that of Red Wing Boots. This belt has a crooked and uneven seam. The thickness of the belt is only 3mm.3. Price $89 for a size 36. Consensus: I expected more quality, consistency, and better product integration from Red Wing given the quality of the stitching on the shoes and the fact that they source the leather from the same tannery. The price is too high. Competitor belts like Duluth Trading Company are at least 25% thicker, with better design and quality stitching. and $20-$30 cheaper with a lifetime warranty. If you need a Red Wing belt and don't mind overpaying for what you get then go for it, otherwise there are better products out there.
