Review on 🌧️ FRIGIDAIRE FFAD5033W1 50-Pint Capacity Dehumidifier for High Humidity by George Woods

The humidity in my basement was 80% last fall when we had rainy weather. It was always wet down there, even though there were two sump pumps and a French drain, so I know there must be water outside the cinder block in the basement. I'm not looking forward to solving this problem because it will probably be expensive! In any case, I only bought this dehumidifier to keep the humidity in the basement low so that mold and mildew don't grow everywhere. Within 24 hours the humidity was within 50% and it is much more comfortable there. I bought some portable temp/humidity sensors and put one in my basement where I know how well this dehumidifier works. I haven't noticed a significant increase in my electric bill either. You can definitely hear this device working, but it's just white background noise. Fan speed and humidity control are adjustable. So if you find running the fan at high speed too noisy, you can reset it to the medium setting, which is what I currently have. I just let the unit drain straight into the sump so I don't have to worry about draining the condensate when it's full. I am happy with this purchase.
