There are no ties on the long side of the lid!
The fabric on this blanket is MUCH thinner than expected. However, it's soft and one side feels cooler than the other, which is actually quite warm. The main problem with this comforter is that there is only ONE STRING IN THE MIDDLE ON THE LONG SIDE. Most weighted blankets have two drawstrings plus corners on each long side. This means that my blanket is slipping on one side of the bedspread or one end is more folded. Wouldn't buy again but this works for $20.
