Review on Fire Blanket Home Suppression Fiberglass by Jon Cherian

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Thanks for not using it - not sure if it opens as easily as described.

For the price this was an investment we hope we'll never use, but thought it would be a good idea to have around. Our house is long end to end so more than one size was ordered. As soon as they arrived my plans to hang them were visibly discouraged as the thought of accessing them during a fire made me realize that the door under the stove or the drawer under the double stove was too close to the fire. Then there was a problem with freezing. The clothes hangers that came with it are useless. The hook will not hold the weight of the bag for more than an hour. I placed the hook on a surface that had been cleaned and then dried overnight. I didn't hang my bag for another 24 hours (I learned this method on other removable hangers). It fell. I haven't tested the "pulls" you're supposed to pull to release the blanket in the event of a fire, but it's likely the hanger won't stick. The next step was to hang the bag on a strong hook used for household brooms, mops, etc. It detached from the bag by simply hanging it on a thin metal sleeve. I trust in the awareness and knowledge that it will NOT be that easy to "pull those two pieces of black fabric and your quilt will be inside out and ready to use". In case of fire I hope they help!

Pros
  • EXTINGUISHING FIRE: A fire blanket can be used to cover a fire without the mess of fire extinguishers. Fire blankets stop a fire by cutting off the flow of oxygen. It doesn't matter whether the fire is caused by grease in the kitchen or by a lack of electricity. Your home should have a fire protection kit and a car protection kit.
Cons
