I was desperate for anything other than a 'Recovery Cone' for my 3 year old Golden Retriever. He was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid about a year ago and gets the occasional rash that causes him to bite and lick the dry/itchy area. I bought the XLarge size and it's actually too small for the average Golden, so I was a bit confused when I bought it because the shirt was a snug fit and there's a Golden on the front of the box. On the other hand, I wasn't sure what exactly to do with the velcro straps on the back, so maybe I did it wrong. But overall it did what it needed to do and was a good workaround. He didn't seem to mind wearing it, either. The scent of lavender really seemed to soothe him. And every time he walks by, he smells so good! I'll look into pacifier collars, hopefully they're not as expensive as this product ($45) at PetsMart which I found a bit pricey for a "shirt" but I think it's better than a cone, it's more what your dog feels most comfortable with at the end of the day.
