The stitching comes out where the silk fabric meets the plush, but underneath that fabric it's plush too. It's all gray (not blue like the picture) which is what I wanted. My boys love these. My nine-year-old has maybe a year to keep up with it. Very soft but on the thinner side. Nice idea, if only it could have been done better. I don't know if it could have been made from better fabric without losing its soft plush feel.
