I got this for FaceTime my relatives across the country. Now I don't have to try to stack random items to find a good spot for my husband and I to fit the iPad screen. The angle options are good. I use it fairly vertically so they don't have to look up our noses. It also helps avoid a technical neck. I stand a lot so this is a good way to watch videos without bending your neck. Also handy for quick access to recipes while cooking. The stand rises, tilts at exactly the right angle without falling down. I wouldn't move it there from the iPad, but first place it where you want it and then put the iPad on top. It's pretty durable and doesn't take up much space. It has enough protrusion to hold my iPad securely in place. Oh yes, my iPad is a 2017 version. About 6 or 7 inches x 9.5 inches (roughly) so not one of the big ones. I definitely recommend it.
