I "installed" this fan on my Synology DVA3219. This fan meets its specifications, including a noise level of almost 60 dB. it also draws about 2 amps at 12 volts, which is way too much for a Synology motherboard. It's also quite thicker than most 120mm fans. As a result, I have a fan connected to an external power supply that runs at 7.5 volts, with the fan still moving at around 100 cfm, but that's pretty consistent with the fact that I don't use it outside of my server room can hear . .power supply: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Z31G3M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 My setup is VERY "MacGyverd" in the sense that I have a whip case with a bottom cutout have used . The container perfectly converts 120mm to 140mm. I used HVAC metal tape to attach the fan to the coolwhip canister and attached the canister to the DVA3219's 140mm exhaust fan outlet. It works, ugly, but I never see my hardware as it's always in the server closet. NOTE: The pre-installed stock Synology fans are still installed and still running at 100% DVA3219 up to Temperature: CPU ran at 120 degrees almost constantly. at almost constant load 50% GPU ran almost constant at 160 degrees at almost constant load 90% disk drives approx. 105-110 DVA3219 after temps:CPU almost constant 95 degrees worked at almost constant load 50% constant 90% load on disks at temperatures around 90-95 degrees (HDD 4, which is closest to the GPU card, always gets 2-4 degrees hotter than the other drives) I was curious to run the fan higher to see a possible performance change, so I increased the fan temporarily to the full 12 volts. the temperature dropped another 2-3 degrees after a few hours, so I went back to 7.5 volts. I bought another one of these fans for the DX513 which I will install once it arrives.
