This is really genius and skillfully done. I don't have a laptop dock so I bought one so I always have cables handy when I want to use my laptop on my desk. I have a glass monitor stand that holds the monitor. I attached the base to the bottom of the monitor stand (using the included self-adhesive backing) so the cables are essentially suspended from the bottom of the stand and tucked inside, but they slip out easily when I want to connect them to my laptop and slide around. He's under the bar. They are great but I'll only rate 5 if there are no restrictions. As with all sticky pads, make sure the surface is flat, dry and very clean. I had to leave the bases overnight with nothing attached before they would stick strong enough to hold the cables. Of course I use them upside down to hang the cable, but I would say the glue could be a bit stronger. In terms of cable size, they go well with my smaller cables (power, USB - although the USB 3 cable was very narrow). The HDMI cable didn't fit - I ended up using a small zip tie to secure the anchor to the cable. This works really well, but I wish there was a slightly larger model for those thicker cables. Overall it works great - I don't know why anyone would buy one unit when you can get three for less than double the price of one.
