Review on ☕ Black Capresso Cool Grind Coffee and Spice Grinder by Kristen Jeanguenat

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as advertised happy with my purchase

Size: I bought this because it is a smaller grinder as it is my backup grinder. We have a large burr grinder that we use for espresso and it's very difficult to change the grind once it's 'set' so we bought this for the French press and are pouring in ideas. It's perfectly adequate for our purpose and can hold about 3 ounces of beans without being overcrowded. I've read that some reviewers say 10 tablespoons, others say 1/2 cup. I also agree with these assessments. It's compact and the cable compartment built into the base is a big plus. Design: I wanted a stainless steel interior and am glad I bought this unit. As another user mentioned, the lid that slides over the top of the grinder instead of plugging in is also a plus in my book. This makes cleaning easier and seems to be the best long-term design. The see-through lid and stainless steel interior make it easy to see what's going on inside, while it would be harder to see if the base was black plastic like many coffee grinders are. Grind: As advertised, this is not an adjustable grind. However, the longer you grind, the finer the grind becomes. One user mentioned that the grind was inconsistent, with some being finer and some being coarser. I agree, but for most grinders this is normal. My solution to this is to slowly turn the device upside down while grinding, which shifts the contents and uses gravity to disperse the contents for a more even grind. Of course, if you do, keep your hand on the lid so you don't spill it :) Value: It's exactly what I was hoping for and I love how it works and looks. I've seen reviews mentioning that they had problems later on, so I'll be sure to reply if I run into any problems. I always appreciate feedback on small home appliances over time because it's important to know if an appliance lasts a year or a month. Other Uses: It's worth noting that we wanted to use this for spices as well and since it can be ground into a fine dust it's great for star anise and other hard spices that we like to use. The stainless steel chamber makes cleaning easier when used between spices and coffee.
