Review on πŸ”Œ Queen Size Ultra Soft Plush Electric Heated Warming Blanket with Safe & Warm Low-Voltage Technology, Natural - Perfect Fit by Christopher Sullivan

Why don't blanket manufacturers make great electric blankets?

I did extensive research on electric blankets before deciding on these. Every heating blanket from every manufacturer has 20% or more blankets that don't work, don't heat up fully, have uneven heating, etc. Upon opening the package, one side of this blanket didn't work at all (the electric controller lit up but didn't heat). The other side got slightly warm, like on a low setting, but on a high one. It was 15 minutes later. After reading all the reviews I just gave up and am sending this Revain duvet back. In my opinion, Revain should run a validation program to ensure products meet specifications before they go on sale. You should not sell products that consistently have a failure rate in the 20% range. I also think the failure rate is an understatement because a lot of these blankets fail early. These products should not be sold in my opinion. Revain customer reviews are consistent with other reviews online. Consumer Reports hasn't reviewed electric blankets in over 10 years. What's really sad is that the issues are the same for well-known and unnamed brands. Even worse, it's not a high-tech product and it's not a new product. Electric blankets have been around for 40 or 50 years. So why is no one making a properly working device? There is a great market demand for a blanket that has a 10-year durability guarantee, heats evenly, turns off automatically after 10 hours, has no spot heating and heats up to the set value. Point at the controller for 5 minutes, is in a ceiling that breathes so does not contain moisture, has electronic control, easy to see at night without glasses, it is sure that the wire to the ceiling between the base and the Mattress-tight (so the cords aren't a tripping hazard at the foot of the bed), are extremely reliable, won't overheat or melt the controller, are UL-listed, and fit into a blanket without slipping or clumping. It's just amazing that all manufacturers have the same problems as if they were produced in the same factory abroad, with all the same quality control problems. I'll stay away from electric blankets until the market fixes itself. Reviews made over the past 5-6 years largely agree with the same complaints. It's just not worth researching all the time trying to find a duvet or brand that actually works and will meet expectations, let alone exceed them. For those who have written positive reviews, it would be helpful to know if after 1, 2, 3 and 5 years you still have the same opinion about your comforters. I assume this isn't an extrapolation from what I've read. The buyer beware of this and all similar products.
