So far so good, great deal

Received it only 4 days ago and used it on 2 cross country flights. This is an upgraded pair of cheap Sol Republic on-ear headphones with wired ANC. Comfort: More comfortable than the in-ear headphones I use. I have a huge head and I wear glasses, several turns in it for 7 hours in a row do not cause any complaints in terms of comfort. They could be softer but I like the lower profile so they stay thin for travel. The headband padding is minimal, but they feel good on my large bald head. Travel: At first I thought I wouldn't like that the earcups fold flat (rotate 90 degrees each), but the headband doesn't fold. Now, having traveled with them in my backpack, I prefer them. When folded, they take up more space than my old earbuds that fold into a bundle, but I think they're less bulky since they're relatively flat. They fit very well in my backpack. I'm a bit concerned that the earcups and padding are more exposed than a folded pair, so I might look for a thin pouch or case to protect them in my bag. ANC: I have deliberately never tried high-quality ANC headphones. on the plane because I'm afraid they'll blow my mind, block everything and prevent me from ever shopping cheap. In all honesty, they're not light years longer than my previous headphones, but they seem to block higher frequencies and also produce less electronic noise. I'm writing this review on the plane right now. The Sony does a good job of blocking almost all low-frequency engine noise. A little low-frequency sound leaks through, but I'm satisfied. They do not block high-frequency noise, so expect very little impact on voices or aircraft ventilation. This plane has a surprisingly loud air movement system, so I hear a very audible "hiss". Here I am afraid to try expensive phones because if they block this I will probably lose $300. I've also noticed that ANC can be oddly dependent on head orientation. On my previous flight I was sitting by the window where the engine noise was greatly reduced until I turned my head to the other side of the plane where the engine noise was noticeably louder. Sound: The factory sound is very smooth, but with the use of an equalizer. Everything is fine in the app. The sound quality is much better than my old pair of cables. Isolation from just the headphone stuff is pretty poor, you can hear quite a bit of outside audio, especially voices, regardless of whether ANC is on or off. If you like the bass they can pump it up amazingly as I've heard many times from Sony, but you can put it back into the app if you don't like the bass. My hearing sucks, but I've never gotten more than 75% with them. Significantly louder than my previous in-ear headphones. Phone Call Quality: Can You Make Phone Calls With It? Is there a microphone I don't know yet, but I'll try soon. Build Quality: Plastic is everywhere and they don't feel insanely durable, but admittedly no complaints after a few days. The play/fwd/rwd button worries me the most since it's a slider button, but if it still works then I'm satisfied since the design is good in terms of functionality. Controls: Really good. I've had a pair of JBL Bluetooth in-ear headphones that I've been using for over a year and I'm still fumbling around at the gym to see which button does what. After working with Sony for two days, I instinctively know where each control is located and what it does. Of course, Sony has much larger ear pads, allowing for greater separation between buttons, more shape and feel options, and just physically larger buttons. I would have preferred USB-C for charging, but I don't think they need to be charged often and I always have a micro-USB. a 4 hour charge out of the box. I'm guessing almost, so time will tell. I'll be using them more often without charging to ensure my phone's settings track the charge level closely. I'll update as soon as I see what's wrong.
