I bought these t-shirts in two different colors (Light Steel and Smoke Grey) when I was looking for a t-shirt that really fits. I'm 5'11, 217 pounds. Yes, I'm a bit stocky and have a middle-aged father figure - I understand that most non-Tommy Bahama shirts aren't made for me. However, XL shirts that don't fit into a slim fit, or American Apparel usually work for me. These Hanes shirts aren't terrible, but they do shrink vertically (and curl up at the bottom, which is really annoying) while somehow magically maintaining a mostly correct chest size and overly long short sleeves. Both colors appear to be made from a slightly different material as Smoke Gray has shrunk by half a size. The light steel has shrunk too much at the bottom. The takeaway here is that they are NOT pre-shrunk, washing in cold water and drying on a delicates will NOT prevent shrinkage, and unless I want to wash them like a miner in a river and line dry them, I will Not. t I know how they can keep their original measurements (which are mostly perfect except for the oddly long short sleeves). Perhaps Hanes should move some of the sleeve material to the bottom of the shirt? For a company specializing in this type of clothing, this is not difficult. The search for the right T-shirt continues.
