I bought the XLarge which fits my 39" waist and has a little more room. The version I received was with a zip and no pocket zips. The shorts are very light and comfortable to wear, and that's where the positives end. My biggest complaint and reason for the 3 stars if you look closely at the pictures on the legs. The legs are beautifully stitched, but instead of being folded they have been trimmed about ¼ inch below the seam. This causes them to look very shabby after a few days of wearing, while others notice a lot of threads after washing. In fact, they just weren't done yet. Maybe it's seconds? I didn't return them because of the hassle and because they meet my needs for housework. I definitely wouldn't date them. My rating is therefore 3 stars. At this price point the quality just isn't there and there are better alternatives; especially if you want to go out with a couple.
