I bought these for my new sewing machine (Magnolia 7330) because I used the walking foot on my old Brother all the time and didn't think I could do without it. While waiting, I tried the old one on my new machine. It fit (although the sewing foot stitch width wasn't as wide as my new machine's capacity) and I wondered if I had wasted my money. I decided to try a new one to decide whether to send it or not. return. It's heavier than the old one and feels more durable. It felt better on the typewriter and I really liked the open tip (my old one didn't have it). It's actually a bit quieter too. I'm not entirely sure why, but I suspect it has to do with better materials and construction. I'm glad to get rid of the old one and it definitely won't be missed. This one was almost double what I paid for the old one, but I still think it was worth the extra cost.
