Nice well made hydration pack

I'm not a big hiker but my family and I enjoy walking our local nature trails and carrying a water bottle is a pain so I was excited to try this The backpack comes with a hydration bladder. Again, I can't comment on how it holds up to tough multi-day hikes, but it's great for 1-3 hour walks/hikes. The bladder contains a sufficient amount of water, both for a light walk and a more strenuous one. It's well made from durable silicone and has a very wide opening for easy filling and cleaning - you can put your whole hand in to really clean and prevent slime build-up. The straw has a no-drip spout which requires you to bite down lightly to break the seal and suck out the water (must be Camelbak branded as my son's Camelbak water bottle has the same spout design). There's a switch to close the spout if you want, but the spout won't drain even if you turn it on. The bag itself is light and strong - very well made. It has a padded back and shoulder straps, but the back has some structure. There are two side water bottle pockets made from a very stretchy material to accommodate extra large bottles that don't normally fit in these side pockets (love this feature!). There are three pockets in total: the back pocket which houses the hydration bladder (which has very cool features to keep the hydration bladder upright in the back pocket and has an opening for the straw to come out), then the middle open pocket and the Front pocket smaller. Pocket with internal mesh pockets for small items. There are several loops on the front of the bag where you can hang things with carabiners, ribbons or whatever. All in all this is a great bag. It has clips on the side so you can make it more compact and body-hugging for easier carrying. You can carry a decent amount of stuff in the other two pockets, not full camping gear or whatever, but enough for a day or maybe overnight if you're a very light packer (and I'm not). I highly recommend this backpack.

Pros
  • Great general specs
Cons
  • Have my doubts
