I put off buying a scratching post because it's expensive considering it's supposed to be torn apart by cats. I bought all kinds of cat scratching posts, toys and beds. Finally, as other cat owners will surely attest, I needed a scratching post and there was just no getting around it. She had to climb and she needed a place to be away from the dog. So I broke down and started buying scratching posts. My thrifty nature drew me to the cheapest ones, but the reviews for many of them weren't fabulous. This scratching post wasn't the cheapest but when I bought it it was on sale and the reviews were good. The product was delivered very quickly and was packaged very well. Today she was waiting for me on the doorstep when I came home from work. All parts were present and everything was in excellent condition. The instructions are just pictures like all instructions these days but they were very simple and clear. A Philips Allen key is included, that's all you need, no other tools required. I will say that in some areas that required a Philips head I probably would have been better off having my own screwdriver but it was too late and I didn't want to dig. The one they provided did the job, it was short and attached to an Allen key, leverage was hard to come by at times. I'm not usually very good at packing and only my cat's love could get me to do it as soon as the box arrived and not have put it off, but it was very easy and I never got into arguments which came in handy is miracle. There was only one disappointing moment where the cat house is bolted on, but I think if I had a second person to help it might be easier (you have to screw part of the cat house to the third leg of the base so you can fix it be able). t you can see where the screw goes). In general, it's not difficult at all. This scratching post is very strong. Its diamond-shaped base allows it to be placed in a corner, but in fact it can be placed anywhere. Doesn't wobble at all. The carpeting is very chic and looks very nice, it's not the cheap carpeting that some people use. I prefer chocolate brown to brown beige which is a common color. The sections of sisal rope appear to be well attached. I'm sure my cat will eventually rip them apart as that's what they're made for, but I can see how I could get more and replace them if needed without too much trouble. The size given in the description is correct, the height is about 42 inches. I put it in the corner of my bedroom so I don't have to sacrifice space in my living room and it occupies a whole corner so it's not small. in width, but I think care must be taken to ensure that the platforms are wide enough for cats to use them comfortably, so I'm not lowering them for this (especially since I found out the measurements when I bought them). like the picture and my cat LOVES it. She is a 1 year old 7 pound striped tiger and she was crawling all over the place before I even fully assembled it. She's already grown so she doesn't need to use a ladder and when I picked it up I just thought she could use it as an extra scratching post but she likes to use a ladder to get upstairs and into the house so I found it easy pretty neat. I know the little hanging toy on the side breaks pretty quickly, she had that before and now. They are only held on with a rubber band but that's ok, I've replaced these toys with other scratching posts and although it destroys them it's fun. The other toy is the rope and it's well built so I'm curious to see how long it lasts. It has a wooden handle on one end that screws into the scratching post, so I don't think it can be replaced if she tears it into ribbons. Part of the cat house is a bit small, but my cat likes to curl up in small spaces to fit her. She is very long so once inside she has to wrap herself in a sling but she prefers that anyway. I could see how a very large fluffy cat could squish. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and I think this scratching post is very good value for money. I will update this review over time to learn more about the comfort but I have to say that from the start it seems to be a very good product. Next time I need to buy something like this I will definitely look out for Go Pet Club products.
