If you know what you're doing, you can easily trim them to length with a thin blade.
Purchased to replace 25 year old tubes in my two 100 gallon tanks. You have to be extra careful when cutting them to the right length as they are a little thinner walled than the originals and if you know your way around they can easily be trimmed with a thin blade.
