Good mouse pad. I can compare styrofoam to sticky base. read review.

Nice mouse pads. I bought this because my mouse doesn't perform well on my desk. I have both foam and sticky versions. Both pads track exceptionally well. I've never had any battery life issues so I can't say if it's improved since it's been running for a few months now. The foam version is my favorite. It's thinner than I expected at just under 1/8 inch thick overall. I thought the combination of foam and plastic might be uncomfortable due to the thickness, but it doesn't feel bad on my wrist when I use it, and it's fairly unobtrusive. The adhesive-backed version is slightly smaller and thinner than one Credit card. When pasted on the table, it is so close to the same plane that it is almost impossible to understand that it is there. The main difference is the sound and feel of the two pads when you move the mouse. The sticky version is noticeably louder than the foam-coated one by any measure. If I pick up the mouse and place it in a different position, the sticky version allows it to go across the table as if there were no pad. When I'm recording webinars, the knocking can be quite loud. The knocking effect was to be expected since there is no cushion. What I didn't expect was how much quieter the foam-backed version would be when I move the text with the mouse. The two pads are the same. The sticky version sounds like it's always going to scratch, and any granules or tiny particles are amplified where they're invisible on the foam pad. I figured I'd need a thinner sticky pad, but I definitely like the smoother, quieter foam pad.
