Review on FreshLock Plus Storage Microban 10 Piece by Buffy Nystrom

I'm a big fan of glass food containers because they don't stain or retain flavor and overall look nicer and more elegant than plastic containers. I purchased the Pyrex "FreshLock Plus Storage with Microban 10-piece Set" which comes in nice retail packaging for a gift. They are all securely packaged and have their small cut-outs in the box, so if something goes wrong they should be safely transported in this packaging. The glass jars themselves are very strong and seem thicker than many of the other jars I've tried, including Pyrex's. Very good. The plastic lids have a rubber gasket that seals the top of the container and then folds and closes the sides to keep the contents fresh. Some of these types of containers have plastic lids with an opening that can be opened, which they don't, but I think if you want to aerate the food you're heating in the microwave, you can just open 2 sides. container and it works exactly the same. The lids say you can write on them, but I'm a bit afraid to try. Because it's clear I can see what's in the container, but I think it would be nice to put the date on things. My leftovers don't last long so I won't be using this feature. Overall I'm happy with this set and expect the glass jars to last a lifetime, the lids are subject to refinement but first impressions are good.
