The bottom of the sharpener is just plastic; it has no gum or sticky substance to hold it in place. If you are trying to sharpen on a countertop such as granite or marble; You have to choke it or it will roll over. Every video of this sharpener mentions that it needs to be stabilized to keep it from slipping. You only needed a rubber floor/rubber feet on it and then it didn't slip anymore. But they didn't; and this is a real bug in the product and a potential security risk. I almost cut myself sharpening a Rada paring knife. But if you hold it with all your might, it sharpens my Rada knives very well.
