I'm slowly expanding my collection of pins/brooches. I'm really liking them at the moment and love the idea of wearing a pair with fall/winter outfits. Sort of a sophisticated version of geek chic. This needle is great for that. Yes the quality could be better BUT I won't be wearing it all the time so it doesn't bother me. It could be cheaper in price, but if it goes with a certain outfit, then it's not a bad buy. In general, the design is good, the clasp holds well. The stone is transparent enough, if a little hazy, but nothing that no one will pay attention to. The gold tone is nice and light, not coppery. The detailing is good, not great, but adequate. I know it's a men's lapel brooch, but it fits me fine.
