When we first put the cover on our 86" cushioned sofa, it felt ridiculously small - it came in with no 'extra' stuff plugged into the seat, which could be placed anywhere. But we had family visiting and our dogs fur was sticking too much to the faux suede sofa and I needed something to protect the sofa. We didn't have foam noodles for the pools, I had upholstery pins (screw nails) so I used two under each arm and figured I'd do the back later. After two days it fits like a glove. The texture of the velvet is luxurious and the dog hair is combed out immediately. The pile of the fabric also hides dirt. If it seems small on your sofa, find a way to pin it in place and it will stretch to fit over time. Edited to add: I've bought maybe 8 sofa covers in the last 15 years and also bought very expensive name brands. This is the first that has stayed in place with my pets, 4 kids and a few house guests. I don't think it's *only* the pins. There's something very right about hard stretching that makes it work. I never had to set it up once.
