Review on 🌿 Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser 3 5: The Ultimate Solution for Refreshed Skin by Sandhya Ramirez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

HG makeup remover, great moisturizer but hates smell (get the unscented version!)

For context: I have normal skin that dries out easily and gets greasy when it dries. Those are hands - I used the best makeup remover I've ever used and I wear a lot of heavy eye makeup. This cold cream removes eye makeup quickly and effortlessly when rubbed in and the best part is that it does NOT sting my eyes at all, which is rare with most makeup removers that get in my eyes occurs. (Sometimes getting too much of this in my eyes blurs my vision, but this washes off easily with water/a damp washcloth and doesn't have any long-term effects to my knowledge.) I also use this as a general facial cleanser as the first step in the double cleansing routine to break down sunscreen (depending on the day I use both physical and chemical sunscreens). I find it incredibly nourishing and moisturizing on my skin and I have fairly dehydrated skin. This is the only cleanser I have ever used that does NOT dry me out at all. I usually use it 2 times a day morning and evening and every time I'm done using it my skin is SOOOOO soft and plump and it has such a nice cool mochi feeling it's so amazing! how do i use it : I take a thick/heavy spoon and rub it all over my face, paying special attention to the areas where I have applied makeup (mainly my eyes). After rubbing it in for 30 seconds, I take a damp washcloth and gently blot until I can no longer feel the greasy residue. And voila! I'm ready for step two of the double cleanse. Note that without double cleaning, this cold cream leaves a very thin film but is never too oily or thick. On days when my skin is particularly dehydrated, I skip the 2nd cleansing step because I love it. Very thin protective film that this cold cream leaves on me. And then there's the totally unbeatable price - drug prices for seemingly premium skincare (and I've used my fair share of premium products that didn't half work). as well as this tub for $5). My skin has really started to glow in the last few months of use and I'm pretty sure I have this cold cream to thank as I haven't changed a thing in my 5 step routine for the past year! Smell: It has such a sugary "grandmother" smell (remember medicinal flowers) that gave me a headache the first 2 times and I almost threw the bath if not for the wonders it did to my skin Don't put makeup off me - and I'm so glad I stayed with him because now I'm blind to the smell. However, there is an unscented version of the same cold cream that I will be purchasing in the future. Waste of makeup remover pads and the need to tug so hard at the skin around the eyes!

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
