I bought this to power a TP-Link AP500 Wi-Fi access point that uses a 12V 2.5A power supply. This cable will power the access point for only a few seconds and then turned on turn off. This is because the cross-section of this cable is too thin. This causes too high a resistance, which doesn't allow enough current to reach the device. I measured over 5 ohms of resistance in one loop of this wire. I found another cable with heavier gauge wire (which is actually longer than this cable) and it measures negligible resistance and powers my device just fine.
