You need to understand the difference between measurement accuracy and accuracy. Accuracy tells us how accurately we can read what the measurement reveals. Is it possible to read your scale to the half ounce, to the gram (1/28 ounce), to the weight? up to 1/32 inch; 1 mm? How fine are the divisions of the scale. That's not precision! Accuracy can only be determined by testing a more reliable measure: the standard weight; micrometer. If the scale is accurate to 1 gram, but its accuracy is only 114 grams (1/4 lb), then reading 1 gram means nothing! For example, if the weight reading is 625 grams, 95% of the time the actual weight will be between 511 and 739 grams. You might as well use a fisherman's spring scale to find the weight and only spend $8! To buy a scale, you need to know its accuracy (how well it reads) and accuracy (how close the reading can be to the true value). This dealer only tells you accuracy.
