Nice design, lots of problems. Caution

EDIT January 27, 2020 I'm changing this review after seeing Oddict's customer service firsthand. They replaced my headphones quickly and they were very polite. I commend her for that. However, the only issue resolved with my spare pair was how easy it was to plug it into my device and the left hand driver was garbled. I was hoping that I only received a defective pair the first time, but this second pair still has the following issues: - Static/radio noise in the right ear cup, this is an incredibly unacceptable problem with $150 headphones. That doesn't even happen with the $50 Aukey headphones. The headphones stop my audio if they move even slightly in my ear. This means the light sensors are WAY too sensitive - the earbuds don't fully sync with each other or my phone. This requires a full reset of the product. This happened every 2 days or so. The microphone for calls on it is not suitable at all. Even by headphone microphone standards. Neutral Comments: The build quality of the case could be significantly improved. That weak latch is just poor engineering. - You must create an account to use the application, which is necessary for good sound from these headphones. - The battery life is about the same as the industry standard. Pros: - Nice design and fits the ears perfectly - Sound quality is good but requires an EQ app. All this is canceled out by the fact that there is constant noise when listening. Verdict: These are half-baked headphones and frankly a poor price at $150. Given Oddict's beautiful design and great customer service, this makes my whole experience bittersweet, but I can't in good conscience recommend them to ordinary consumers. If you value aesthetics over functionality, support Oddict. I think it's worth supporting the Freshman Company if you believe in it. Just be careful with current issues. Note to company: I will be the first to buy another pair when you release the second generation - your design is so good. If the marked problems are fixed permanently, you will kill them. ---- ORIGINAL REVIEW December 2020 I just want to start this review by saying that I am willing to change this review. I would love to see this product become a success but based on my current experience they still have a long way to go. I'm using iOS FYI. First problem: Bluetooth connection took too long. About 8 minutes until the device finally sent a signal to my cell phone. After a complete restart of the device, this problem disappeared. You may have a smoother experience out of the box, but I don't. The second problem: A slightly high-pitched drone can be heard constantly in the right earphone. Almost sounds like losing FM signal connection. You can hear it at most volume levels when listening to music. It mixes with normal audio levels, but you can still hear enough of it to bother you. It's ridiculous that this is an issue with such an expensive pair of headphones. I've tested them in different locations to avoid interference from other devices and the problem persists. But honestly, they shouldn't have this problem no matter what. Third issue: After several hours of use, the left earbud connects but doesn't play music/audio. I only hear sound from my right earbud. After a hard reset, the connection to the device returned to both earbuds for a few times. I have the same problem again. A hard reset solves most problems, but it is not a permanent solution. Issue 4: The headphones skip the audio when RECEIVING a phone call and play audio through the phone instead. But when I'm on the phone, the sound works! Then the microphone doesn't work, making them useless for calls. Just in case I tested it with an Android device and it's the same lol. Fifth problem: The driver on the left earphone distorts on deep bass songs. After the listener was pressed to the ear, the distortion disappeared. However, it is occasionally present. I have no idea what could be causing this other than a loose cone or driver magnet. This hasn't happened with any other headphones I've ever had. Sixth (minor) issue: I need to register an account to use the app. I see no purpose in this and it seems to me that this is another data collection. Personally, I don't have a huge problem with it, but I imagine others will. The rest of the app is great. A few other minor complaints, but no major ones: The case's finish is a fingerprint magnet in the most unflattering way. The locking mechanism on the case is VERY flimsy and the plastic in the lid is cheap. almost like a plastic coffee cup lid. If you have good headphones, you know that a charging case has to be durable and fast. In this case no. I can't imagine this case lasting long for someone who isn't very careful with their devices. And I doubt it will survive a 4 foot drop. Some positives: while the headphones worked, they sounded great. Probably the best I've heard. The fit and finish of the earbuds themselves feel fantastic. They fit better than AirPods. The product design and packaging presentation creates a premium feel. Once you actually use these headphones, all the beauty of this product disappears. The last positive is the app. The app is well designed and has some great features such as: B. Locating the headphones and sending out an audio signal so you can hear them while searching. The equalizer is easy to use and allows you to adjust the sound to suit your needs. The app was probably the best part of my experience. It's clean and easy to use. I'll happily change this review later, but for now this is my experience. I contacted ODDICT, let's see how the support team works. At the moment I wouldn't buy them and go with tried and tested ones like Master and Dynamic, Apple, Bang and Olufsen, Sony or Sennheiser. All of this makes for good quality wireless devices with decent sound quality.
