I'm pleasantly surprised at how well this hub works. I've used it as my daily driver since it arrived on Saturday and it's been fast, reliable and stayed relatively cool compared to similar products I've used in the past. I currently use a hub to permanently connect my keyboard, mouse, HDMI monitor, VGA monitor, and USB-C charger. I've plugged in and swapped out different USB sticks 2 and 3 and SD cards with no problems. ADVANTAGES: - Small size for the number of ports provided - More than enough ports for my needs - Feels only slightly warm even after expansion and heavy use - Much cooler than comparable concentrators in my experience. -Includes both HDMI and VGA for those of us who still need to use old monitors or monitors found at Goodwill. Ports on other computers - Pass-through charging - Despite occupying two USB-C ports, this hub has a dedicated space for connecting a charger in cool packaging - weird to say but it seems products usually come in plain envelopes delivered or in a plain white box. I've included photos of the packaging because it was a step up from what I expected. DISADVANTAGE: I only have one small downside with this device and it could actually be an issue with Apple's drivers/system preferences, but I'm including that here for completeness. -Headphone jack - it worked right off the bat to send audio to my headphones and also recognized the connected microphone. Strangely, it started up at 100% volume, and the volume buttons on the touchpad didn't automatically switch to controlling the headphone output, like they do when the headphones are connected directly to the Macbook. It only took four clicks to change the output in System Preferences, and the volume buttons worked as expected. Let's hope macOS can better detect audio devices on these hubs in the future.
