Review on Labebe 3-Color Storage Organizer Container by Kathryn Brown

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Super sweet. but what are they actually made of (solid wood or MDF and plywood or all 3?)

Although they are very cute and I only assembled mine today and they contain a decent amount of toys and my son loved them. I have given them 3 stars so far for the inaccurate labeling in the product description of what they are actually made of. After I bought them, I read a number of articles on the internet about chemical "outgassing" from furniture, mattresses, cribs, etc., so I double-checked what they were made of. It says it's made out of "Sturdy SOLID WOOD" and underneath it says in orange words it's made out of "OIL WOOD" and even further down it says it's actually made out of "MDF and PLYWOOD" (which is NOT solid wood are) are manufactured. Instead, MDF and plywood use glues and resins to bond wood that contains toxic formaldehyde that continues to emit gas into the air long after the product is made. And anyone in the home (including children) in the vicinity of this type of product/furniture made from "MDF, chipboard, engineered wood, engineered wood, veneer or plywood" breathes in these toxic chemicals (like formaldehyde) from the glue in the wood. "outgas" into the air and can cause asthma, allergies, headaches, etc. SO. When a product says twice that it's made out of "hardwood/solid wood" it's dead wrong when it's actually made out of MDF and plywood (which are pieces of wood glued and pressed together). NOT HARDWOOD (which is a lot safer!) So now I'm upset that I bought them thinking that they're a bit more expensive because they're made out of real "hardwood". made of MDF and plywood! It is FALSE ADVERTISING to say twice that they are made of "hard stuff" when in fact they are! So what is it? Is it solid wood or not? Or is part natural solid wood and part MDF and plywood? Labebe I need a clear answer please thank you. And it should be stated more clearly in the product description. Baby products and safety should not be misleading or misleading in your product description.
