This is a great device and for cleaning the air in large spaces it is as good if not better than other room air purifiers. It's about twice the size of the Winix 5500 we have in our bedroom. However, it has one serious flaw that can be crucial if you need it to treat allergies. As mentioned in the previous review, sometimes the device turns itself off at night and won't turn back on. From a conversation with tech support it turned out that sometimes the sleep mode doesn't work properly (when it's dark it automatically goes into sleep mode which sets a timer for 8 hours and turns the device off automatically and doesn't switch back to auto mode). This happens a few times a week. If you suffer from allergies, going downstairs and being in a blast in a room full of allergens is unacceptable. That being said, it works well in the following situations: - When cleaning the tray, it automatically increases the fan speed and quickly removes odors/dust. eliminates cooking odors. Before we had it, it was coming through the house into the upstairs living quarters. Even in our living room it can keep cooking smells at bay - Improves allergy symptoms - We tested using a bong in the living room. All traces of turbo removed in 20 minutes Needs work: - Need a remote control. While it's not necessary, other comparable devices have it, and it's really useful when you want to turn it on but can't or don't want to get up. - Redesign hibernation. They really screwed it up and I don't understand how. This function was supposed to be a "turn off the light so I can sleep" mode and nothing else.
