Review on Sony XB01 Bluetooth Compact Portable Speaker Black (SRSXB01/B) (Renewed) - Enhanced Sound in a Portable Package! by Todd Look

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Small speaker, average quality for the size class

Update 05/10/20: I stopped using the speaker as a clock radio. There is an issue with hum when the speaker is turned on while a source is connected to the AUX input and no signal is present. The buzzing disappears when the signal starts. No hum in quiet portions of program material only when the source is off. It's ok like a small bluetooth speaker. A ground loop or similar makes it useless for my purpose. I bought this to use in my old tablet clock radio. It does not turn off automatically when plugged into a power source and connected to an audio source with a cable. Sound quality is balanced but limited, better than a small portable radio or cheap clock radio. This speaker is not designed for loud gaming or monster bass. he's tiny, okay? Don't expect a full hip hop or electronic experience. The 1812 Overture and Bach's organ music won't make you tremble at the windows. Conversations and soft background music are what it's good for. a minus. The power/pairing indicator flashes continuously when the speaker is connected to a source with a cable. Pros: It's small. The repair option is very inexpensive.

Pros
  • Portable bluetooth speaker
Cons
  • Out of fashion
