Review on Winsome Trading, Inc. Carson Brown Valet Stand by Benny Suazo

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Medium effort for storing clothes and closets

Not a bad product, but a bit unassuming. - Easy assembly: 4 stars. Takes less than 15 minutes. The instructions are clear. Have a Phillips screwdriver ready; the manufacturer supplies another tool (hex key) - material quality: 2 stars. Head and shoulders under Ikea. During assembly you will need to place a large wooden tray face down on the floor. The paintwork scratches quickly on my clean wooden floor. I had to use a rug or towel. Part of the hanger on my servant has an ugly square mark or scuffs - not my fault, it came out of the box. Packaging materials are sufficient but of poor quality. Badly and carelessly packaged in a third world country with an amazing selection of cardboard, tissue paper, polystyrene, plastic and adhesive tape. Condition: 3 stars. See above. In my case all the wood, especially the side boards, was covered in fine dust, probably sawdust. It's easy enough to wipe off with a damp towel, but I don't have to. Stability: 3 stars. No big deal, but this servant post doesn't need a hard squeeze to tip over. I tucked the horizontal hind legs halfway under the baseboard radiator in my bedroom to reduce this risk. Utility: 3 stars. It works. It looks good from afar. But: the bar that holds the pants is relatively low off the ground. You can fold them as intended, but if you leave the crease up, the legs will touch the ground or even hang over it. (By the way, I'm of average height.) The answer should be to create a crease about 8-10 inches from the top of the pant, except if it's a light pant with a more or less strong belt that's the weight The belt will cause the pants to slide on the floor. Some rubberized material on top of the handlebars would help. The bar isn't open on one side, so you'll need to pull up your pants and thread the bottoms of your legs through a U-shaped (not L-shaped) bracket. It works, but not as conveniently as the alternative. Value: 2 stars. I wouldn't pay that much for it in a regular store - I was fooled by the Revain photo. Up close, the materials look like they might cost $10, if that. $30 to $40 would be a fair retail value. $70 is a bargain, but not for the other side, not for you. Note: Revain's description mentions "accessory box". Here is nothing. Just the tray you see in the picture. Given the hassle of disassembling, repackaging, and returning, I'll definitely keep it to myself, but I won't be buying this item again. Don't worry, I'll live - after all, Winsome, you've lost something.
