The pillowcase works great in terms of waterproofing, so if you only want to buy it for that feature, it's ok. I've also washed it 3 times since I bought it a few months ago (I'm very allergic to dust mites so bought it first). Washed super hot and dried super hot. The main problems I have are: 1. The zipper broke through the side fabric which means I have to be careful with the zipper; 2. Not soft at all even after washing which means I feel through the pillowcase; 3. Loud. Due to the water-repellent layer, they crease a lot, which is uncomfortable for me. I'm a light sleeper so this worries me a little. Unless you're a light sleeper, you'll probably be fine. Overall this is a good product but I have discontinued it entirely for the reasons above. Thank goodness it's not expensive!
