At such a low price I am very satisfied with this lamp. The color is exponentially better than the light that came with my tank. The light is very bright. In fact I would say too bright, I use this light on either the lowest or second lowest brightness setting. I also use a 10 hour timer that turns the light on and off. Unfortunately, each time it runs again, the timer reverts to a higher brightness setting and I have to lower it manually. I can't tell if there's a way to run it on a low brightness setting or not. I've seen comments from people saying that the light doesn't turn off completely at the beginning of the shutdown cycle, but instead goes very dim, but that's not the case. The light turns off completely, the light only gets very dim if you turn on the hour cycle first and then select the brightness for the on cycle. Once it has run through the hours, it will shut down completely. However, it can be difficult to adjust the settings in a specific way since the buttons on the remote control are very simple. For example, you can't tell a light to turn on a few hours in the future, you have to do an hourly on/off cycle at the time you want it to turn on and no other time. I had some issues where I had to turn the light off in the middle of the day and when I turned the light back on I figured it would reset 10 hour duty cycle. I couldn't fix it at the moment and had to wait until the next day and make sure I was there at the right time to turn it back on and get the loop working at the right time. In the end, this light works and all the features it has work properly, but the simplicity of the remote makes it a bit tricky to set up. For the price this is a great product.
