The telescopic rod holds its position but that's the only positive thing I can find about this back scratcher. The pins themselves are not thick enough or long enough for me. Due to the fact that my shoulder blades protrude forward, and due to the short teeth at certain angles, only the cover of the stick body scratches me and not the teeth. When I want to scratch my lower back I can only do it from side to side and it's just uncomfortable. The thinness of the pens is also not a very comfortable feeling.
