Do Not Buy This! My plants got infested and everything died.

Update: I recently gave this item 3 stars and you can read my initial review below. However, today I must change my story and warn others against buying this product. All of my plants have died because of this product.A few weeks ago, I noticed my hydroponic peppers, which were the healthiest I had ever grown, starting to get sliver spots and lots of dead leaves. The plants beneath the peppers were also suffering. After changing the water, solutions, and even adjusting the lights, that's when I noticed the tiny little insects on the still developing peppers. I knocked them out with some DE and thought everything was fine. That's when the small plants died. Then I noticed the same insects were on my green onions and killing them. My tiny basils were suffering. Even my oregano was slowly dying. Everything was in separate rooms and the only thing to connect them was me. Or so I thought. This afternoon, I pulled my beans and put my radishes outside to see the sun before they completely die. Why? They were infested too. The radishes were in a separate part of my home and watered automatically. I hadn't touched them since planting them. The only thing in common was this product. The peppers were exposed when I had to break the block up with a hammer. My basil, beans, and radishes were all planted in it. The onions and oregano were sitting next to plants that had been planted in it.I lost an entire season's crop of several plants because of this product. I really strongly urge others to not purchase this soil substitute because your plants could end up the same way. Think twice.Original post:I order this and expected it to be an easy way to grow plants indoors. However, I was very mistaken. First off, I needed to take the claw part of a hammer to the brick to get any to release. The dust was amazing! It traveled throughout my laundry room and covered everything in an orange-brown dust. Soaking it was fine, provided you don't mind a flood. I would put a little in a bowl, pour over the water and let it soak for a few minutes. When I moved it to the pot, the water would then drain out and all over my floor. After a few days, when the top was drying out, the salts from the fertilizer I had mixed in began to crystallize out. Following that was the mold. So much mold. It didn't matter if I watered from the top or the bottom, there was always mold. It was grayish green and took over the surface. I lost nearly all of my smaller plants to the mold. The only thing I could do was to throw it outside and hope that mother nature would take care of the mold spores.I would only recommend this product if you are using it outside. For inside plants, it isn't really worth the hassle. Larger pots and trays seem to be ok, but smaller ones get moldy faster. So, if you must use it for indoor gardens, make sure the pot/tray is large and it might be ok.One last thing. 10lbs will go a long long way. I was able to get 2 large and deep trays, 2 smaller trays, and several small pots with a lot left over. Use it sparingly as it does expand quite a bit. You don't need much to fill your trays.
