My old beagle was having trouble jumping up on top of a chest that's at the foot of a tall bed to climb up in. He was reluctant at first to try the stairs/ramp but after a couple of days of coxing him up with a beggin' strip he now no longer hesitates to head up or down them. It only took me a little finagling/pulling/tugging to get the cover over the foam insert properly. The zipper was a little fussy in a couple of spots but if you help align the sides to be zippered together it is pretty easy. I started putting the foam into the cover immediately after releasing it from its plastic cocoon to make it fit inside easier before it fully fills out into its non compressed shape.
