I don't like the material. It's cotton, but it doesn't feel like cotton, more like a synthetic or blended feel. Due to the material they are not as secure when tying as I would like. I bought 2 pairs of Thai fisherman pants from Monasterystore.org; a monastery where I go for retreats and exercises. That's what you expect from 100% cotton. When I tie them they stay secure and no matter how I sit for meditation or physical exercise they move easily with me without tying or moving and the pocket is in the front which I prefer. They cost more but now I only buy from them. I haven't even worn the gray ones I bought from that Revain seller. I don't like the feel of them on my skin. I'm updating my rating. I have washed these pants several times and they are softer. I have found these are now the ones I wear most often for summer seats (zazen) as they are made of a thinner material than my other pairs. Just so you know, they're small. I'm 5'1" and they only come down to my ankles. I mean the pocket on the front but wrapping it properly allows the backpack to be brought closer to the front. I would give 5 stars but the Cotton isn't soft what do you think. But as I said, with washing and drying (yes, tumble dry) they soften or at least don't scratch anymore and make ties more reliable. Now I recommend them.
