Despite many negative reviews, we bought Zoom based on some positive reviews. I'm glad we did! I bought an Xbox 360 with Kinect and Zoom on the same day from different sellers and just so happened they were delivered on the same day so we never used our Xbox without Zoom. It was easy to set up/calibrate - very easy. Since we have a 72-inch TV in a small room, Zoom made all the difference in being able to use our new Kinect or not. We never moved sofas or rearranged the room each time. Day to complete our daily training - nothing will happen, the crisis has been averted. By the way, our Kinect camera is about 26 inches off the ground. Zoom is always on the Kinect, although it takes a split second to remove and a little longer to attach - Align it left to right - EASY! FYI, Zoom is just a set of magnifying lenses (one unit) that attaches to the Xbox Kinect camera. Not much, but it's a great idea and essential in situations like ours. I'm not sure why a lot of people have trouble with this. I suspect some of these reviewers have issues with a lot of the stuff they buy (you can draw your own conclusions). My advice: if you think you need it, buy it. The price is right. Incidentally, secondary "privacy" covers for Kinect cameras will not fit if you have zoom on your camera - that should be obvious. Improvisation does not require a Ph.D. Maybe a genius makes it work for Zoom owners while others just use a black sock or handkerchief. Whatever it is, we feel a little creepy having this camera pointed at us when we're watching TV, Netflix etc, which is why we currently turn it on its side when not in use. If we can find a lid, we can just shell out another $20 for a piece of black plastic. What else for $20? (Sarcasm)
