I now have a Westone W20 and was looking for a Bluetooth option so I had to jump at the opportunity when this cable came out. I've had the cable for a few weeks now and have used it in three main scenarios: work (Mac), travel (iPhone 6), and workout (iPhone 6 and iPod). My biggest concern with the purchase was that I've read that some people have experienced a lot of interference/dropouts. Initially, the connection on my Mac was always reliable and never dropped. A very impressive experience. It would occasionally crash on my iPhone, but not enough to be really frustrating as I was expecting some crashes based on previous experiences with other Bluetooth devices. I only used the iTouch to check and there were many more dropouts. So based on experiences between Mac and iDevices I've come to the conclusion that it really depends on the hardware/software of the device you're pairing it with. The software contains errors. Depending on which version you downloaded, it may affect your listening experience, as in this last article. [.] Rating: Mac 9/10, iPhone 8/10 and iPod 7/10. Build Quality and Design: The construction feels very solid and is consistent with all Westone products. I wish the cable was fabric like the Alpha cables, it just feels better when you sweat. The design is a bit clunky but I think it will be better in the next gen. Score 8.5/10. Sound quality: Again, I think it has to do with the quality of the connection. The Mac and iPhone performed just as well as the wired ones, with great depth and rich but natural sound in every way. The iTouch performed well, with highs that were too high and bass that was distorted. Based on a Best Links rating of 9/10. Comfort/Fit: I was so surprised they are so comfortable. They can be worn for hours with almost no feeling. Rated 9/10. Insulation/Microphonics: It all depends on how you wear them: around the back and loose - 8/10, around the back and close to the head - 6/10 and hanging in the front - 9/10. Battery: Reliable. I have done all my activities without ever draining my battery including a trip to London. Cons: One "feature" that is driving me nuts and I hope this can be changed with a software update is the annoying volume beep. Not only does it beep when you press to change the volume, the beep seems to get louder with each volume press. Westone, please change this or give him the option to turn it off. Which brings me to my next wish, software updates. I can't seem to find any information on how to update the software on them, but it seems possible via plugging in the USB charging cable. I'm sure it's not just the store. Conclusion: I'm very glad I decided to try them out, it's very liberating without being tied to a cable. are they perfect No, but it's a good start.
