Pretty pliers! I needed smooth jawed pliers for sewing leather and am very pleased with the ease of use of these pliers. Sometimes you buy new pliers and they are difficult to use; However, they work beautifully and smoothly. So for those old hands, it's great! Spring force just right. It's not really a spring, it's two opposite little pieces of metal inside the handle that bounce off when you release them. And that's a good thing, because with all that Florida humidity, rusting thin metal springs are a problem. .The size is great too! They fit very comfortably in the palm of my hand! The handles of the tongs are 2 5/8 inches wide at their widest point. The length of the handle from the back end to the neck where the green ends is 2 3/4 inches. long. The needle tip spread is 3/8 inch when relaxed and open. And the depth of the neck from tip to jaw is 7/8 inch.
