If it's just supposed to be a monitor stand and there should be a certain amount of height adjustment, that's no problem. However, if you also want it for pranks, consider other options. I don't like having drawer access under the riser. If you have the lowest setting or limited space with the keyboard in front of the extension (even at a higher setting), you won't be able to access the drawers. everything is smooth and problems arise even if there is nothing in it that could cause it. Phone part never used. I ended up returning mine (I bought two) and just received my monitor stands.
