Review on 🧲 Tegu Magnetic Wooden Block Building Toys - Unlock Unlimited Building Fun! by Shawn Bass

Good, but it could be better

It looks like a very durable toy that will last for generations. I bought it with high hopes that my kids will fall in love with it (because it's an investment of sorts). My kids are 1 and 3 years old and I think it's better for older kids as little ones get discouraged by the lack of manipulability. There are no magnets where you'd hope, so assembling the things pictured on the box requires some critical thinking and layering of blocks. Tall rectangular blocks only have magnets at the top and bottom, not on the sides. That doesn't make them as useful as we'd like. The flat pieces have them on the ends, except for the longest flat pieces, which have an extra magnet in the middle. Trapezoidal parts only have magnets on the edge of the corners. Small cubes have magnets on all sides. My kids love the wheels and I would recommend buying a set with these wheels. Corner pieces can be a little tricky to design as they don't quite match the dimensions of the other blocks. I hope Tegu considers adding more magnets to the parts to make them easier to use. At the moment my kids are playing more with Bristle Blocks and Duplo because it makes it easier for them to do whatever they want.
