Years ago, carbon paper was an everyday item in our household. Now it took a bit of shopping to find wood transfer paper for the plaque project. Bought this set based on reviews of quality and cost for number of blades and tools. A tool with two rounded tips (one slightly sharper than the other) worked well to give the image of a forklift (see image). For some of the lines I used a ruler and a circular guide; free hands other lines. The bluish image came out clearly for all lines with normal writing pressure. Having done this type of transfer many times before, I knew not to press with the palm of my hand while tracing the printout of the image in order not to leave smudges. I taped the printout and carbon paper to a wooden board that could be lifted off at one end to check the transfer process if needed without wasting space. After firing the image, before painting some areas, I lightly used a sander to remove any lines that weren't wanted in the final design.
