Due to the dashboard configuration of my 2018 Acura MDX and my chosen phone mount, the best place for my iPhone was to the left of the steering wheel by the air vent. Having a USB port for Apple Carplay in the console between the front seats meant I had to use a 6ft USB cable to connect everything. Unfortunately, this meant running cables through the steering column and draping them over the front console/face. Dashboard. Aside from the cable moving with this arrangement, it also looked pretty bad and the end that connected to the phone had to be found every time I wanted to connect the phone. Not a very good solution. Research led me to these cable clips. . Small enough to be unobtrusive, tacky enough to stay in place, the cable grip area was secure for one cable but large enough for two old ones (if I wanted to double fold the cable) and I could attach clips to the side the console and UNDER the steering wheel. Almost invisible and the end of the cable I need to connect my phone is handy and I always know where it will be when I need it. I put them up in early May so I haven't had any summer heat or extreme winter cold yet to see if they hold up. Now they are holding up very well. The other issue I had was what they would present if I eventually sell/trade the car. As I said, they are small and in inconspicuous places. Maybe even a good selling point. If I remove them instead, there will be adhesive residue in hard-to-see places that I may not be able to remove. The solution works well in everything.
