This fryer was smaller than I expected (my fault) but we kept it for smaller items. The dimensions in the description are external dimensions. This pan is neither thick nor thin stainless steel. The edges are neither sharp nor smooth. The size is not big and not small. Average everything except the $50 price, which I soon found out was high. Because I later found a Cusinart stainless steel pan at Target for the same price that was larger (15 x 10 x 4 inside), with thicker stainless steel, smoother edges, larger handles, and even a rack, so I bought that too. We also came across a wide range of ss pans on other websites. In that case, you can look around.
