In 2008 I bought a Sony Walkman SRF-59, a stereo version of the AM/FM Walkman which I liked and it worked well until my workplace was flooded this year and I lost all my personal belongings at my workplace . So I needed another small radio for work and really only needed FM as I pretty much only listen to local NPR radio and one country music station. I came across this Walkman SRF-56 by accident. Knowing I liked my previous Walkman SRF-59, I bought one of the SRF-56. I think I like this Walkman better than the AM/FM SRF-59; Sensitivity seems to be better on FM only Walkman, ie. my local NPR and local stations seem clearer. I recently traveled back and forth from NYC to Cali for work, staying in Cali for 2 weeks each time. On my first trip to Cali, I took my new SRF-56; You know, I listen to this radio 5-6 hours a day for two weeks on the same AA battery! In fact I'm still using the same battery I'm writing this review with, 3 weeks plus on one battery! I also like the analog tuner, which can be a little fiddly, but the digital tuner has its issues. So when I got back to New York from Cali, I bought a second of these radios! Why? I think one is not enough! You never know when disaster will strike again and I'll lose another Walkman. This FM radio uses headphone wire as the antenna, but the headphones supplied with the SRF-56 are not suitable for travel. take up too much space. So I bought back the Sennheiser CX300-B stereo headphones that I used with the original AM/FM SRF-59s. These Sennheiser CX300-B in-ear headphones (which really do look like in-ear headphones) appear to be fully functional with the SRF-56 as the antenna, and come with a small pouch for convenient storage of the headphones and cables.
