As we face a very cold and snowy winter, I can safely say that this set is not only cute, but also warms little heads and hands! Even in minus weather my baby was warm and comfortable. The fleece lining and knitted outer layers are very well made. For warmer winter weather - frost - mittens are thick and durable enough not to get completely wet when playing in the snow. We didn't get to try them out as much as I would have liked this year as it was seldom warm enough to play outside for long periods of time, but the few times we went out in white the mittens held up. very respectable because it is not waterproof. I will say if your child is as petite as mine it may take several years for the mittens to fit properly. She was three and a half years old this winter, and this year the mittens were very large for her (although they still did their job perfectly - her hands were warm and dry. She was just struggling to make a snowball!), but it means also that she can wear them for years. The hat and scarf are the perfect size for a child aged two and up. Nice and bright but without the eyesore of fluorescent madness. I've never had a problem spotting them in the snow! And it's cute and feminine without being fluffy. The black and teal colors add just the right touch to balance the pink and purple and perfected my little one's black winter boots and teal snowsuit!
