Size L is marked for 9-10 years. It's a little bigger. The main problem I have is that there are only two belt loops on the front just for decoration and none on the back making it impossible to use a belt. The skirt is a little loose on my girlfriend so luckily she stayed but it would have been nice to be able to put a belt on just to be sure. It's otherwise soft, hits mid-thigh and is made from faux denim. Suitable for everyday school life with leggings or tights.
