Before you buy anything expensive, you usually look for the negatives first. The only downside to the Mazur PRM-9000 Geiger counter that I can think of is changing the batteries. Don't worry, this Geiger counter's 9V battery lasts a long time. However, it's also fairly easy to damage the areas around the battery bay if you're not careful. There are no short illustrations in the guide to show you step by step. However, the manual gives you 11 steps on page 9. The first thing you have to do is loosen all four screws on the back. Mazur should always show a startup message and serial number when inserting a new battery after turning on the device. In the settings, the user can switch between the battery settings on "Battery performance settings" and "External performance settings". Turning the geiger counter on and off is very simple. Needless to say, the Mazur 9000 detects alpha, beta, gamma and X-ray particles. While I would never recommend testing any food or liquid with a Geiger counter for accuracy, those with pancake probes are the best. Also, I want to know that this is not a Chinese made Geiger counter. As for the national ranking of these devices in terms of quality, I personally think they are American, German and Russian, in that order. People tend to forget that after World War II many of the brightest astrophysicists and nuclear physicists moved to the US to work for the government. In any case, you can choose between 1 min, 5 min, 10 min, 20 min, 30 min, 60 min and 90 min with Mazur for time measurements. Place a piece of paper on the pancake probe to block alpha particles. Then it should mainly read beta particles. It cannot list the user WHAT radioactive chemical element(s) are in the object, but it will certainly show people how much radioactivity is currently present. Try not to confuse the device's detection of potassium in bananas with caesium-137. Bananas and Brazil nuts are naturally radioactive. The top three geiger counters you can buy are the Inspector EXP or the LCD-90+RM-80 geiger counter from Aware Electronics Incorporated. All of them reveal the big four. The LCD-90 + RM-80 looks a bit dated in my personal opinion, but these products supposedly offer a little more than the Mazur. With the LCD-90 + RM-80 the user can choose between even more installed units. There is only one video on Youtube showing the AE product. So only nuclear physicists, university professors and company employees have probably heard of this Geiger counter. However, the Mazur 9000 is up to date. In this respect we still compare the Lamborghini to the McLaren F-1. They're both expensive, amazing geiger counters. I personally like that the Mazur 9000 looks more modern than the LCD-90. It doesn't look like it was pulled straight from 1988. Users can even customize the sound of the Mazur 9000 in three different ways. A loud beep, a quieter beep, and the usual crackling sound heard from any other Geiger counter. It's really neat. So can I recommend this product? Yes of course. Unfortunately, some of the best products on the market never come cheap.
